Saudi-backed militants loot Ataq city

SHABAWH, Aug. 25 (YPA) – The city of Ataq, the capital of oil-rich Shabwah province has witnessed organized looting by militias of Islah party, the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood backed by Saudi occupation forces, Local sources reported on Saturday.

According to Witnesses, the Islah militants carried out a large-scale looting of government and private institutions inside the city of Ataq.

Activists on the social media circulated pictures showing medium-sized transport vehicles transporting furniture from Ataq heading on to Marib City, the stronghold of Islah party.

Al-Islah militants, backed by Saudi forces, took control of the City of Ataq, while local sources confirm that clashes with Southern Transitional militants and the Emirati-backed Shabwah elite forces resumed.
