UAE-backed forces control major military base in Yemen’s western coast

SANAA, Aug. 23 (YPA) – Large military force loyal to the UAE has took control of Khalid Ibn Alwalid Camp, the most important and largest military base in Yemen’s western.

Well-informed sources said that forces led by Tariq Affash, a military commander of the so-called “the Republic Guard Forces” loyal to the UAE, advanced towards the camp and seized it after the exit of the so-called Al-Amaliqa Brigades forces controlling the camp since 2017.

The camp was under the control of the second Amaliqa Brigade led by Hamdi Shokri, which headed for Taiz province to back Abu Al-Abbas battalions loyal to the UAE, the sources added.
