HADRAMOUT, July 31 (YPA) – Angry protesters in on Tuesday cut off a number of main streets in Mukalla city of Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, local source told Yemen Press Agency.
According to the sources, the protesters closed the main street linking the city of Al-Dais with the old neighborhoods of Mukalla with stones and burning tires in protest against the frequent power outage in the cities of Hadramout coast, which reached up to six hours.
Local authorities in Hadramout province increased the number of hours of power outage due to the lack of diesel to run power plant, one of the sources said.
The power cuts increased the suffering of children and patients, as the temperature rises in the summer.
The province of Hadramout has been witnessing an increase in the power cuts recently, especially in the summer season and extreme heat, in light of the control of the Emirati-Saudi-backed militias on the province since the aggression on Yemen in 2015.
