Trump uses veto to unblock weapons sale to Saudi Arabia, UAE

SANAA, July 25 (YPA) – The US president has vetoed resolutions in Congress to block the sale of worth of weapons to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Donald Trump said  in a letter to the Senate justifying his use of the presidential veto “the three resolutions “would weaken America’s global competitiveness” and damage its relationship with its allies.”

It is the third time that Trump has vetoed presidential decisions against Congress since taking office.
Congress passed those resolutions this month in a move interpreted by analysts as a blow to Trump’s administration.
