Turkish police prevents Yemeni students to protest at Embassy in Ankara

SANAA, July 4 (YPA) – The Embassy of coalition-backed government in Ankara on Wednesday has called on Turkish police to prevent Yemeni students from carrying out a protest against non-payment of their dues, they intended to carry out in the embassy yard.

Media official of the Yemeni Student Union, Mohammed Salah said in a press statement that the students came today to carry out a sit-in called earlier and were surprised by the presence of police cars at the call of the Embassy.

Yemeni students in Turkey complain about the failure of embassy officials in Ankara to do their duties towards students, which has led to the dropping of financial dues for a number of students.

The union of Yemeni students in Turkey called for a sit-in at the embassy, on Wednesday, until their legitimate demands are met, according to the announcement of the call.
There are about 5,000 Yemeni students in Turkey who are studying at Turkish universities.

The incident is not the first, as the embassies appointed by the exiled Hadi government have been insulting Yemeni students abroad whenever they try to demand their rights, amid widespread of corruption among officials in those embassies.
