Yemeni army launches offensive on coalition’s sites in Taiz

TAIZ, May 28 (YPA) – The Yemeni army on late Monday launched a large-scale attack on military positions of mercenaries loyal to Saudi –led coalition in Taiz province, southwest Yemen, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the official, dozens of the militants were killed and wounded in the battle, which took place in Hifan district.

Earlier in the day, the artillery unit of the army forces shelled sites and gatherings of the mercenaries in Dhabab front, inflicting heavy casualties in their ranks. Furthermore, the missile forces fired a barrage of Katyusha rockets on gatherings of the US-backed Saudi-led aggression’s mercenaries in Khalid camp, killing and injuring several of them.

The official confirmed that dozens of the mercenaries were killed and wounded when the army forces foiled their attack toward air defense hills in Bir Basha area.
