SANAA, April 6 (YPA) – Pope Francis blamed Europe and the United States for selling weapons in war zones, fueling conflicts and causing casualties in Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan.
In his speech to students and teachers at the San Carlo Institute in Milan on Saturday, Francis said that the reason for the many wars and their persistence around the world is that “The wealthy Europe and America are selling weapons to use to kill children and kill people.”
Pope also added that “without weapons, countries such as Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan would not be at war.”
Francis concluded “The state that produces and sells weapons, kills children and destroys families, I wonder what about their conscience.”
