Update: Yemeni army attacks leave heavy casualties on coalition in Marib

MARIB, March 16 (YPA) – The Yemeni army has on Saturday launched large attacks on military positions of militants loyal to Saudi-led coalition in Ma’rib province, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the official, the attacks were carried out from two tracks in which a military vehicle loaded with militants was destroyed by an improvised explosive device, planted by the Yemeni army’s engineering unit, in Harib Nihem district.

The official said that dozens of the militants were killed and wounded in the attack.

The source also indicated that eight militants were killed in sniper fire that took place during the explosive attack.

Meanwhile, the artillery unit of the army shelled gatherings and reinforcements of the militants in the same district, causing more direct casualties

Earlier in the day, missile forces of the Yemeni army fired a Zilizal-1 missile on gatherings of the militants in Jadaan front of Sirwah district, killing and wounding dozens of them.
