SANAA, March 10 (YPA) – At least 29 people, who were aboard a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to JFK airport in New York, were injured due heavy air turbulence.
The New York City Fire Department said it has treated 29 passengers who were slightly injured and did not pose a threat to their lives.
It also indicated that it had transported three injured persons to hospital, while the rest had been treated in the field.
The plane was carrying 326 passengers and 21 crew members.
The National Aviation Meteorological Center warned pilots of severe air turbulence over New England on Saturday evening, NBC 4 New York reported.
This was the second incident at a major airport in the New York area on Saturday.
Newark Airport, New Jersey, closed its runways earlier in the day after a cargo plane was forced to land on an emergency flight from Canada to Florida.
