British FM: We will hold talks for peace in Yemen

SANAA, Feb. 28 (YPA) – British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt on Thursday said he would visit Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Sultanate of Oman to hold talks on peace efforts in Yemen.

This comes after British Prime Minister Theresa May’s remarks about Yemen and pressure on Saudi Arabia to stop the war and end the humanitarian suffering caused by the war.

Hunt stated on his Twitter account that he would travel to Oman, Saudi Arabia and the UAE tonight for further talks on the peace process in Yemen.
“Our goal is to build on the UN-backed Stockholm agreement in December,” he said.

“We have seen some progress, especially the decline of fighting in Hodeidah, but more needs to be done now if lasting peace is to be achieved,” he added.
