Yellow Vests continue their protests again in Paris

SANAA, Feb. 23 (YPA) – The Yellow Vests continue their protests for the fifteenth consecutive week in France amid police preparations in Paris, which are expected to witness the largest protest rallies.

The French Ministry of Interior, whose figures are constantly confronted by protesters, says the size of the protests has declined on the last four Saturdays.

Over 410,000 people demonstrated in France last Saturday, compared to 282, 000 on November 17 the first day of unprecedented social protest movements.

In Paris, five demonstrations were announced, three of them in the form of rallies, according to a police statement.

The two other marches, named “Tsunami yellow” and “all of us in the Champs-Elysées do not retreat from anything”, will depart from the arc of victory at 12:00 and 13, 00 respectively and end at 17 o’clock in the Trocadéro square.

The “Beautiful neighborhoods March” will cross the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and the opera district, turning around the Louvre Museum  and stop in front of the headquarters of the “movement of Companies of France”

On Facebook, 4,000 people on Friday announced their participation in these gatherings and more than 18,000 others said they were “interested.” However, these figures do not allow the size of the packing to be predicted. According to the authorities, five thousand members of the “Yellow Vests” went to the streets last Saturday.

The Paris police warned that it “does not rule out the facts that during these two days informal gatherings and formation of undisciplined processions are held”, stressing that it will deploy “many appropriate troops” to ensure the security of the French capital.
