President discusses judicial reforms with Head of Judicial Council

SANAA, Feb. 20 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on Wednesday discussed with Head of the Supreme Judicial Council Judge Ahmad al-Mutawakil the judicial reforms matrix included in the draft national vision for building the modern Yemeni state.

The meeting dealt with the procedures included in the draft national vision to strengthen the judiciary’s role and the rule of law and to improve the situation of courts and prosecutions in order to enable them to accomplish their tasks to the fullest.

In the meeting, the President confirmed the Political Council’s keenness on providing all aspects of support for the judiciary as that is a priority to achieve justice, as confirmed by the draft national vision.

The president stressed the importance of doubling efforts and improving the performance level of the judicial bodies, hailing the role of the Supreme Judicial Council and its efforts in this regard.
