SANAA, Feb. 17 (YPA) – At least eight people were killed and over 50 others were injured on Sunday in a fire broke out in more than 200 slum houses in Chittagong, Bangladesh, on Sunday, police said.
According to Reuters, a firefighter said the fire may have been caused by a short circuit.
Safety procedures are rarely followed in Bangladesh and hundreds of deaths occur every year.
In 2013, the Rana Plaza factory collapse killed more than 1,100 garment workers.
