Foreign Ministry condemns coalition’s attack on fishermen

SANAA, Feb. 14 (YPA) – An official source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Wednesday’s attack waged by Saudi-led coalition warplanes on fishermen north of Badih Island, which killed eight fishermen and injured seven in an initial toll.

The source pointed out that since the beginning of the aggression, the countries of coalition have targeted fishing boats in the sea, fishing ports and houses in the coastal villages, as well as arrested dozens and put them in the prisons of the coalition’s countries.

The source stressed that the coalition’s forces are continuing their military escalation, obstructing the Stockholm agreements, violating international humanitarian and international human rights laws.

The source called on the international community and in the forefront the Security Council, the Human Rights Council and human rights organizations to break their silence and condemn the crimes committed against Yemen, land and humanity, and pressure to end the aggression and siege.

The source renewed the request of Salvation government to form an independent international commission of inquiry to investigate the crimes and violations committed by the countries of coalition and bring the perpetrators to justice to receive their fair punishment.
