SANAA, Feb. 11 (YPA) – The U.S. officials have revealed that the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s visit to Poland is aimed at making the Conference “The Future of peace and security in the Middle East” successful, in which Washington hopes to form an alliance against Iran.
Mike Pompeo is to begin a tour of Central Europe that includes Hungary and Slovakia and leads him to Poland.
During his tour, Pompeo is seeking to compensate for the lack of US presence, which has opened the way for greater Chinese and Russian influence in Central Europe, administration officials said.
Most of Pompeo’s visit to Poland will focus on this conference, which was organized and advocated by the United States. US Vice President Mike Penny will attend the two-day conference starting on Feb. 13.
Washington hopes to win the support of its allies in Europe and the Middle East to increase pressure on Iran to end what it describes as Tehran’s destructive behavior in the Middle East and to end its nuclear and missile programs.
