IRAN, Feb. 2 (YPA) – At least one person was killed and five others injured in a terrorist attack on a Basij forces base in Nik Shahr county of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province in the southeast of the country, Iranian media outlets reported
“one member of IRGC killed and other five got injured in a terrorist attack on the Revolutionary Guard’s mobilization headquarters in the city of Nikshahr in the southeastern Iranian Sistan and Baluchestan province,” Iran’s Fars news agency reported.
Last month, Iran witnessed an armed attack in the southwestern city of Zahedan, killing a traffic police officer.
In a context related to the war on terrorism within Iran, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced on January 5 January the killing of the terrorist commander in the southeastern region of Iran.
“The Iranian forces clashed with the leader of terrorists in the southeastern region of Iran, which is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in the region,” Commander of the I.R.G.C. Ground Forces’ Quds Base Brigadier General Mohammad Marani said.
He added that “when this terrorist entered with his cell, our forces were able to confront them and eliminate them with all their potential.”
