SANAA, Jan. 30 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Wednesday discussed with Resident Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (HCHR) in Yemen Dr. al-Obaid Ahmad al-Obaid the joint cooperation fields.
The meeting touched on the latest developments related to the work of the international and regional experts team formed by the UN Human Rights Council.
During the meeting, Sharaf noted to the ongoing crimes and violations being committed by the aggression countries against Yemen and its peoples and their seeking to obstruct Stockholm agreements through daily violations of the cease-fire.
“We count on human rights organizations, especially the UN HCHR, to pressure the aggression (Saudi-led coalition) countries and their mercenaries to stop their crimes and violations of human rights in Yemen,” Sharaf said.
The minister welcomed HCHR’s decision to extend the term of the experts team to investigate human rights violations in Yemen, confirming readiness to facilitate for the team’s work.
He reiterated the National Salvation Government’s commitment to respect international laws and conventions and to protect and promote human rights.
