SANAA, Jan. 20 (YPA) – A Violent explosion rocked the southern city of Damascus on Sunday morning, the Syrian news agency SANA reported.
According to SANA, the blast was caused by a terrorist act.
Sources in the Syrian capital Damascus said a huge explosion was heard in the city’s neighborhoods.
The security forces immediately closed the roads leading to the blast site, while ambulances and firefighters rushed to the scene.
The blast, which occurred in the capital Damascus, was caused by a terrorist act and preliminary information reported of casualties, the official SANA news agency said.
Activists on social media reported that the sound of the blast was heard across Damascus was the result of a terrorist act targeting a military checkpoint near the southern bridge.
They noted that the security services foiled a second explosion by dismantling an explosive device and chasing terrorists, where the roads lead to the Kafarsouseh, Mezze and Jisr al-Zahira were closed.
