Two citizens injured in stabbing attack in Aden

SANAA, Jan. 19  (YPA) -At least two people were injured on Saturday in a stabbing attack by attackers in the southern port city of Aden, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The stabbing attack took place in Crater district, the sources added.

According to the local sources, the assailants stabbed two citizens: Ahmed Khaled Saleh, who was stabbed in the neck, and another one called Ahmed Fajer.

The sources confirmed that the real motivations behind the crime were not yet known, however, the attackers were confirmed to have a history with hashish addiction.

The first victim was taken to the Republic Hospital and his health condition was eventually reported as stable, while the second victim has already left the hospital.

The search for the suspects is still ongoing, in order to find out the causes and motives of the crime, sources stated.

The attack comes as a result of the security chaos in Aden and other occupied provinces in the south of Yemen, which has allowed armed militants to reinforce their positions in areas nominally under Saudi or Emirati control.
