SANAA, Jan. 17 (YPA)- A leading delegation from Hamas movement will visit Cairo soon to discuss the latest developments on the Palestinian issue in connection with the stalled reconciliation, Hamas said.
“The bilateral relationship between Hamas and Egypt has evolved and been greatly enhanced over the past year,” the leader in Hamas, Taher al-Nono said on.
He added that the movement had conducted a “successful strategic dialogue” with the Egyptian General intelligence agency over the past year.
The Egyptian delegation’s recent visit to Gaza was “very important and gave a lot of optimism to what is coming in the future for the benefit of the Palestinian people, Al-Nono told Aqsa TV.
The delegation told the factions during their meeting that work at the Rafah crossing would continue and that there was no Egyptian decision to close it, he said, adding that he would work both ways soon.
A high-level Egyptian general intelligence delegation arrived in Gaza a few days ago to discuss the Rafah crossing, especially after the withdrawal of the authority’s elements and stabilizing of the ceasefire and reconciliation efforts.
