SANAA, Jan. 16 (YPA) – The UNFPA is currently reviewing the National Population Strategy, which was formulated in 2014, with the aim of working out a new implementation plan until 2025, said Dr. Hala Yousef, Regional Advisor for Population and Information Policies at the United Nations Population Fund for Arab States.
During a conference entitled “How to deal with the population issue properly”, held by the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies on Tuesday, she stressed that the next plan of action should take into account all ministries, civil society and the House of Representatives, and focus on youth, women and education because these factors translate economically. .
She called for looking at the budget of the population seriously, pointing out that the budget of research dealing with population issues does not exceed 15% of the budget of scientific research in Egypt.
