Saudi-led coalition forces step up military actions in Hodeidah

HODEIDAH, Jan. 15 (YPA) – Saudi-led coalition forces on Tuesday stepped up their military operations and deployed dozens of military armored vehicles in several areas of Hodeidah province.

On Monday, field sources monitored big movements of militias loyal to the coalition forces in several areas in conjunction with intensive sorties of Apache and espionage aircrafts.

The sources said that five spying planes of the coalition hovered extensively in the skies of the southern districts of Hodeidah.

Amid this escalation by the coalition forces, General Patrick Cammirate, head of the UN team monitoring the ceasefire, informed the national negotiating delegation during a meeting on Tuesday that the meetings would continue on Wednesday waiting for the arrival of the other party delegation.

During the past 24 hours, the coalition forces pounded villages and populated areas in al-Hali and al-Durihemi districts and al-Shabab City in Hodeidah with more than 65 artillery shells and gunshots.
