Damascus, March 18 (YPA) – The Syrian army and allied forces retook control over 70 percent of the territory that had been under armed groups in Damascus Countryside.
The Syrian army headquarters in a statement published by the agency “SANA” on its Facebook page said that troops had captured swathes of farmland, several villages and some towns.
The headquarters said that the army units worked to exit of thousands of civilians safely from al-Ghouta, which the gunmen have taken as human shields, calling on the civilians in the area to get out through safe crossings.
