Foreign Ministry discusses results of UN envoy visit

SANAA, Jan. 8 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Tuesday chaired a meeting held at the Foreign Ministry to discuss outcomes of the recent visit of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, within his follow-up to Stockholm agreement.

At the meeting, Sharaf confirmed the trend of the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government towards a just and honorable peace and not surrender.

“Yemeni people, who have been steadfast for four years, are able to withstand any aggression,” Sharaf said.

Amendments to the law of diplomatic corps aimed to strengthen the role of the ministry and its diplomatic staff were reviewed during the meeting.

The meeting also dealt with the axis of foreign policy within the draft national vision for building the modern Yemeni state and how to develop it to serve interests of the Republic of Yemen.
