SANAA, Jan. 3 (YPA) – A Palestinian journalist and a paramedic were injured by Israeli occupation forces early on Thursday when hundreds of settlers stormed Joseph’s Tomb near the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus city.
Palestinian Red Crescent spokesman Ahmed Jibril said that journalist Bakr Abdelhaq, a reporter for Palestine television, was injured by a rubber bullet in the foot, and Yassin Omran, a medical aid worker, was shot in the face during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces in the same area.
They were taken to the Rafidia Hospital for treatment, he added.
Jibril indicated that the Red Crescent crews provided field treatment to one of the citizens who were killed during the confrontations near the tomb of Yusuf.
Palestinian Media reported that hundreds of settlers stormed Joseph’s tomb after midnight under heavy protection of the occupation forces.
The media said that Israeli forces were deployed around the tomb and on rooftops and performed prayers and religious rituals until dawn of the day.
Clashes reportedly broke out between the Israeli occupation forces and dozens of youths in the vicinity of the tomb, along Amman Street and the Al-Ghawi junction east of the city.
