UAE occupation closes al-Dhaba oil port road in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Dec. 30 (YPA) – Command of the second military region controlled by the UAE occupation in Hadramout province, on Sunday announced the closure of Shuhir – Shehr (al-Dhaba) road in Mukalla city for a temporary period as of Monday.

A statement issued by the region said that the closure decision was for security reasons and would begin at dawn on Monday and last for four days.

Under a popular and media pressure, the occupation forces reopened the road late in last July after controlling al-Dhaba port, which has been closed for more than two years.

The UAE occupation and units of the US Marine Corps stationed at Rayan International Airport use al-Dhaba port as a military port to provide logistic supplies to the foreign forces stationed in Hadramout.

Al-Dhaba port has a strategic importance for the Yemeni economy for its location on the Arabian Sea in the province of Hadramout. It is one of the most important export ports, especially crude oil shipments from Masilah oil sector.
