SANAA, Dec. 22 (YPA) – British police said on Saturday that two people were arrested in connection with drone incidents that obstructed work at Gatwick Airport in London.
The arrests took place late Friday, police reported.
Air traffic was suspended at Gatwick International Airport near London after two planes spotted two tracks flying in the vicinity of the runway, the administration said in a statement.
Flights to Gatwick Airport in south London, the second largest airport in Britain after Heathrow airport, were scheduled to be diverted to other airports, and passengers had to wait long hours before their flights took off.
The movement is gradually returning to the airport, the eighth largest airport in Europe in terms of air traffic.
It offers trips to over 228 destinations in 74 countries. About 45 million passengers per year are represented.
British law prohibits the use of drones near planes or airports.
