Parliamentary committee diagnoses causes of traffic anarchy

SANAA, Dec. 19 (YPA) – A parliamentary committee on Wednesday attributed the causes of traffic anarchy in the capital Sanaa and provinces to the lack of coordination between the concerned government agencies.

In its report submitted to the Parliament, the committee referred that the living conditions of Yemeni citizens as a result of the ongoing aggression and siege, including owners of taxis and motorcycles, have made them unable to pay for getting metal paintings or other fees.

The report explained that the anarchy of traffic is not because of lack of organizing laws, but because of not-implementation of the laws.

The committee’s conclusions confirmed that maintaining the traffic system is the responsibility of all ministries, facilities and service institutions associated with the public street, namely the Ministries of Interior, Transport, Finance, Public Works and Roads, as well as local councils in the capital and provinces.

The report contained a number of recommendations to the government in this area, and in light of that, the parliament postponed the discussion of the report to a future meeting in presence of the competent government side.
