SANAA, Dec. 13 (YPA) – Canada should distance itself from US hegemonism and grant unconditional freedom to Meng Wanzhou, Chinese executive official of Huawei held in at Vancouver at Washington’s request, the Global Times said in its editorial on Thursday.
The US prosecutor accused the Chinese executive official of Huawei of misleading banks over transactions linked to Iran, which exposes banks to the risk of violating sanctions, according to Reuters.
She was arrested on December 1, and released on bail on Tuesday, the Global Times reported, adding that she will be released if the United States does not submit a formal request for her deportation within 60 days of her arrest.
