52 coalition airstrikes against citizens property over 48 hours in line of Sweden peace talks: Spokesman
SANAA, Dec. 11 (YPA) – Saudi-led coalition fighter jets have waged 52 strikes against citizens’ properties in different provinces over the past 48 hours, army spokesman Yahya Sarie said on Tuesday.
Saudi-led coalition stepped up air and ground attacks on Yemen in line of peace consultations sponsored by the United Nations in Sweden, he said.
The air and ground attacks focused on provinces of Najran, Saada, Hodeidah, Hajjah and Marib, causing heavy damage to the citizens’ farms and houses.
“The coalition’s attacks came simultaneously with the beginning of the UN-backed peace consultations in Sweden and that contradict with the peace efforts,” Sarie said.
Sarie said the Yemeni army repelled several of the attacks towards several fronts, killing and injuring scores of the militiamen.
The spokesman stressed that the Yemeni army has the right to respond to any military escalation by the coalition.
