UN humanitarian chief calls for ending human tragedy in Yemen

SANAA, Nov. 29 (YPA) – UN Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, Mark Lowcock, on Thursday called, in a tweet on his Twitter account, for putting an end to “the human tragedy unfolding in Yemen.”

Lowcock visited a camp for displaced people in Sanaa, where he said he met with people from the provinces of Hodeidah, Saada, Taiz and other areas affected by fighting.

“A ceasefire and commitment to peace are some of the things that need to happen,” he said.
