SANAA, Nov. 22 (YPA) – US Defense Secretary James N. Mattis said on Wednesday that peace talks between the warring parties in Yemen would probably take place in early December in Sweden.
Mattis claimed that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates had halted offensive operations around the Yemeni coastal city of Hodeidah and that fighting fronts had not changed in the past 72 hours despite some clashes.
“It is very likely that we will see both Huthi and the government recognized by the United Nations (in talks) in Sweden in early December,” the US defense secretary told reporters.
This comes after an attempt to hold peace talks failed in September because the Salvation government did not attend after a three-day wait.
