Taliban confirms talks with US in Doha

SANAA, Nov. 19 (YPA) – Taliban has officially confirmed that it conducted preliminary negotiations with the United States of America in the city of Doha, Qatar over the past week, according to a local “1 TV” station.

In a statement issued by the Taliban on Monday, the movement denied all allegations of media about an agreement on the interim government, elections and other files.

“Three days of initial talks with the United States were conducted in Doha last week,” the statement read.

The movement refuted media reports and “Allegations of agreement on the interim government, elections and the incoming president.”

The Taliban said that they insisted during the talks “on the establishment of an Islamic regime and a genuine resolution of the Afghan conflict in the recent talks with the United States in Qatar.”
