HADRAMOUT, July 28 (YPA) – “The Supreme Council of the Revolutionary Movement for the Liberation and Independence of the South” announced on Sunday its categorical rejection of any attempts to impose guardianship over Hadramout province or plunge it into destructive conflicts.
In a statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency, the council warned against any military moves by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) outside the will of the people of Hadramout, noting that the STC’s threats last week regarding an invasion of Hadramout constitute a provocation of the feelings of the province’s residents.
The statement considered these threats to be a dangerous attempt to ignite sedition with devastating effects and comprehensive consequences. It added that the people of Hadramout reject a repetition of the conflicts that the country witnessed in 1986, or the revival of a painful past under false slogans and the ambitions of a blind authority.
The council explained that the leadership based on coercion and force has proven its failure to manage the provinces under its control at the political, social, and security levels, and has been unable to provide a model that unites the people of the south or build partnerships based on respect and integration.
The statement affirmed that Hadramout will not be an arena for conflict, influence, or political settlements, declaring the council’s support for the people of the province in defending their land, dignity, and future.
The council called on the southern forces to use reason instead of escalation, and to return to the dialogue table based on the principles of partnership rather than hegemony and exclusion.
The statement emphasized that the security and stability of Hadramout are a red line that cannot be crossed or used as a platform for experimentation and bargaining.
