SANAA, Nov. 15 (YPA) – The European Parliament on Wednesday has passed a new resolution to ban exports of arms supply to Saudi Arabia because of its continued aggression on Yemen.
The draft resolution submitted to the IPU Parliament, which was approved by 325 deputies, rejected by one, and 19 abstained from voting.
According to the document on the law: “The European Parliament believes that arms exports to Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other members of the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen do not match the norm, due to their involvement in serious violations of humanitarian law, as defined by UN bodies. ”
It further states that the European Parliament “reiterates its call for the urgent need for an arms embargo against Saudi Arabia and all other members of the coalition in Yemen.”
