Health Bureau Director loyal to coalition survives assassination attempt in Dhalea

DHALEA, Nov. 4 (YPA) – A leader in the so-called Southern Transitional Council funded by the United Arab Emirates on Sunday survived an assassination attempt by detonating his car with an improvised explosive device in Yemen’s southern Province of Dhalea, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

Local sources confirmed that the Health Bureau Director, Mohamed Fara al-Maqra’ai, has survived a failed assassination attempt when his car went off in one of the main streets in the city of Dhalea due to an explosive device planted on his car by unknown gunmen.

Unknown gunmen to plant an improvised explosive device (IED) in the leader’s car, one of the sources said.

No casualties were reported as a result of the explosion, the source added

This came after the commander of the 4th Battalion in the 33rd Armored Brigade, Col. Taher al-Aqel, was killed last week with three of his escorts by an improvised explosive device blast in Sanah area.
