Erdogan’s advisor: Khashoggi’s body was dissolved immediately after his murder inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul
SANAA, Nov. 3 (YPA) – The body of the Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi, was dissolved immediately after his murder inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul a month ago, Yasin Aktay The advisor to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday.
“We now see that it wasn’t just cut up, they also got rid of the body by dissolving it,” Yasin Aktay told the Hurriyet newspaper in an interview on Friday.
“According to the latest information available to us, the reason they cut up the body is to be easier to dissolve it,” Aktay said.
This is the first statement made by Turkish officials who said that the body of Khashoggi has been dissolved, and authorities concerned with the investigation of the case have not yet formally commented on this information.
The authorities were investigating the hypothesis and found that the body was dissolved in acid inside the consulate or at the consul’s residence nearby, a Turkish official told The Washington Post, on condition of anonymity.
