Australia to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem

SANAA, Oct. 16 (YPA) – Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison told his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday that his government is considering the possibility of moving its embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem, Israeli media reported on Tuesday.

The move came during a telephone call between the two sides, in which they discussed a number of issues and strengthen relations between the two countries.

Morris took office as the prime minister two months ago; he has changed his country’s policies towards Israel and has tended to be openly supportive.

He has begun to take more positive steps to strengthen his country’s relations with the United States and the countries closest to it.
