MAHRA, Oct. 15 (YPA) – Laban storm hit Mahra province, eastern Yemen, on Sunday and turned it into a stricken province with power outage, road network cut out and health services interruption, local authorities said in a statement on Monday.
The first death case was announced in the province, as well as two others wounded as a result of the hurricane.
“Sheltering units are available for more than 350 affected families from those whose houses were destroyed or surrounded by floods,” the authorities added.
“Heavy rains still falling and besieged cities, villages and houses,” said local residents.
According to local sources, the tropical storm reached outskirts of the neighboring province of Hadramout, and struck Sharma and Shehr villages, resulting in power outages.
