27  killed, 255 wounded in traffic accidents in Mahweet

MAHWEET, Oct. 13 (YPA) – 27 people were killed and 255 injured in 145 traffic accidents in Mahweet province during the period January – September on 2018.

The director of traffic in the province, Zeid Al-Nunu, told yemen Press Agency  that 27 people died, including seven children and three women, and 255 seriously injured, including 44 children and 80 minor injuries due to traffic accidents during the past nine months.

According to a report issued by the Traffic Department, the total material losses resulting from these accidents amounted to 67,800,000 riyals.

The report attributed the causes of these traffic accidents to excessive speed, negligence of drivers and technical failure and non-compliance with traffic rules and others.
