Somali army cleans Mogadishu-Merca road from armed militias

SANAA, Sept. 26 (YPA) – The Somali National Army cleaned the road between the capital Mogadishu and the port city of Merca youth militias of al-Qaeda elements.

The National Army Command’s plan is to liberate all the remaining areas where the remnants of the rebel youth militias are holed up,” said the staff chief of the army, Athawi Raji, who led the combing operation, according to the Somali News Agency.

Raji pointed out that the army will not stop and will work to lift the suffering that the terrorist militias have imposed on the Somali people for a long time on the coastal road.
