Deputy FM discusses IOM’s performance

SANAA, Sep. 15 (YPA) –  Deputy Foreign Minister, Hussein al-Azzi, on Saturday met with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) delegation in Sanaa.

Duing the meeting, the officials discussed the organization’s performance and activities in order to achieve its objectives, the most important of which is the provision of humanitarian assistance to displaced people and efforts to limit the flow of illegal immigrants.

Al-Azzi said: “Yemen is subjected to brutal aggression that exceeded all the limits and humanitarian norms and violated all the basic principles of human rights and international humanitarian law and reached the stage of crimes against humanity, as recently confirmed reports of international human rights organizations.”

Al-Azzi stressed on the need for humanitarian organizations working in Yemen to abide with the laws and customs prevailing in the society when carrying out their humanitarian tasks and taking into account the priorities necessary for the Yemeni people, especially under conditions of aggression and unjust siege.

He stressed that the political leadership provided all facilities to humanitarian work and organizations working in Yemen through the establishment of a specialized body for this purpose, which is the competent authority to provide field and non-field facilities for all Components of Humanitarian Action.
