Ethiopia, Eritrea reopen border crossing between their countries

SANAA, Sep. 11 (YPA) – The Ethiopian Prime Minister (Abiy Ahmed) and the President of Eritrea (Isaias Afwerki) reopened on Tuesday a border crossing between their countries for land transport in the first action since the two countries fought a war two decades ago, the Eritrean Information Minister said on Twitter.

“President Isaias Afwerki and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed officially opened the Dibai Sima-Puri border point between the two countries for land transport, and the two leaders will arrive in Asmara soon and will go to their point of departure – Zalambessa for similar ceremonies, ” the Eritrean Information Minister added.
