SANAA, Oct. 31 (YPA) – The Ministry of Health in Sana’a announced, on Saturday, that six civilians, including three children, were injured as a result of a Saudi airstrike that targeted a grocery store in the Al-Mashawla area of Al-Wazi’iyah district in Taiz Governorate.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Dr. Anis Al-Asbahi, confirmed that six citizens, including children, were injured in the attack.
For its part, the National Human Rights Commission condemned the crime, explaining that targeting the crowded market resulted in injuries to six citizens, with varying degrees of severity, according to initial reports.
The commission considered the bombing of a grocery store in a popular market a direct attack on a civilian target protected under international humanitarian law and a flagrant violation of Article 52 of Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions, and a war crime according to Article 8 of the Rome Statute. It comes within the policy of starvation and collective punishment to paralyze economic life.
It pointed out that the crime comes less than 24 hours after the Saudi regime’s massacres in Al-Shamaitain, Maqbana, Hayfan, and Mocha districts, holding the Saudi regime fully responsible and demanding that the United Nations condemn it.
