Sayyed al-Houthi’s message to southern Yemenis reveals dangerous Saudi plot

SANAA, Oct. 29 (YPA) – Yemen’s Ansarullah movement leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi sought to reassure residents of Yemen’s southern provinces, adding that Saudi Arabia was pursuing a dangerous plan to draw southerners into the conflict and clarifying which forces are targeted by Sanaa’s military.

In a televised speech marking the annual Martyr Day, Sayyed al-Houthi said southern Yemenis were not targets of the Sanaa forces.

He stated that the targets were Saudi military build-ups led by Saudi officers that were being used to kill Yemenis.

Sayyed al-Houthi accused the Saudi regime and its local allies of spreading misinformation to confuse the public and misrepresent military movements in the country.

The movement’s leader also accused Riyadh of continuing to target Yemen’s vital infrastructure despite the de-escalation period in 2022, affirming that Saudi Arabia had since returned to its highest levels of escalation, committing crimes against civilians and destroying civilian facilities.

He said the United States had used Saudi Arabia as an Arab and Islamic front to carry out, endorse and finance the aggression. He accused the Saudi regime of pursuing US and Western policies and using political slogans to mobilize public opinion in ways that deepen division and fragmentation.

Leader al-Houthi maintained that Sanaa’s response to the Saudi-led aggression was justified, saying several countries had urged Saudi Arabia to stop its aggressive campaign and lift the blockade, but Riyadh had continued.

He renewed his call for Saudi Arabia to end the aggression and lift the blockade, warning that continued escalation would only bring it further losses.
