Israeli officer, soldier injured in operational incident in southern Lebanon

LEBANON, Oct. 04 (YPA) – An Israeli soldier was seriously injured and an officer sustained moderate injuries in an operational incident during military activity in southern Lebanon, according to statements released by the Israeli occupation army and reported by Hebrew media.

According to “Yedioth Ahronoth”, the incident occurred late Friday when a grenade was mishandled during an operation in southern Lebanon, an Israeli military spokesperson confirmed on Sunday morning.

The injured personnel—a active-duty soldier who sustained severe injuries and a field officer with moderate injuries—were evacuated to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa for treatment. The Israeli military stated that an investigation into the circumstances of the incident is currently underway.
