Quds Governorate reports sharp rise in Israeli occupation violations in Q3 2026

OCCUPIED QUDS, Oct. 03 (YPA) – The Quds (Jerusalem) Governorate administration released its third-quarter report for 2026, documenting a marked escalation in Israeli occupation violations across Quds and its surroundings, including fatalities, repeated incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, demolitions, land leveling, and settlement expansion.

According to the report, six Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation forces during the third quarter, bringing the total number of fatalities in the governorate since the beginning of the year to 17.

The report noted a surge in incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli occupation police and Zionist settlers. A total of 27,830 settlers entered the compound, alongside 13,113 individuals who entered under the cover of tourism. The period witnessed an escalation in provocative rituals involving Israeli occupation officials and rabbis.

In terms of detentions and legal measures, the governorate recorded 357 arrests—including women and children—along with 73 ban orders, mostly restricting access to Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Israeli occupation authorities issued 71 judicial rulings and decisions against detainees, in addition to 10 cases of house arrest documented by the report.

On infrastructure and land, the report documented 139 demolitions and land leveling operations, which included 35 forced self-demolitions. Additionally, Israeli occupation authorities issued 150 legal notices and orders for demolition, eviction, and land confiscation.

The report highlighted 55 settlement plans and development projects, involving the deposit and approval of thousands of residential units, as well as tenders launched for tens of thousands of new units, including major development projects surrounding the city.

The  Quds Governorate administration stated that these actions reflect a systematic policy aimed at altering the demographic and geographic character of Quds, restricting the movement of Palestinian residents, and targeting Islamic and Christian holy sites.
