Thousands rally in Morocco rejecting normalization with Israeli occupation

RABAT, Sept. 26 (YPA) – Thousands of people took to the streets in Morocco in support of Gaza and Palestine, protesting violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque and condemning steps toward normalization with the Israeli occupation.

The demonstrations were held as part of the Al-Aqsa and no to normalization campaign in several Moroccan cities.

Reports said around 76 protest and solidarity events were held in 45 cities at the invitation of Morocco’s Authority for Supporting the Nation’s Causes, following Friday prayers.

At a demonstration in Marrakesh, participants carried Palestinian flags and expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza while condemning violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The protesters also rejected moves to further develop relations between Morocco and the occupation.

The protestors followed recent developments involving the elevation of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel to ambassadorial level, including the reciprocal appointment of ambassadors.

The Moroccan Front for Supporting Palestine and Opposing Normalization had called for protests across the country from September 25 to 27.

Moroccan protesters voiced their opposition to expanding normalization measures as attacks on Gaza continue and violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque escalate.
