Explosions rock several Saudi cities as missile attack reported

RIYADH, Sept. 19 (YPA) – Explosions rocked several Saudi cities, including the capital Riyadh, late Friday and early Saturday amid reports of a large-scale missile attack by Sanaa forces.

Air raid sirens sounded in Riyadh, Al-Kharj, Farasan, Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu, AlUla, Khamis Mushait, Jizan and Abha, warning of an incoming threat.

Saudi activists reported seeing missiles streaking across the night sky over several areas at high speed, apparently evading Patriot air defenses.

The missiles were believed to be hypersonic, according to reports, after Saudi air defenses reportedly failed to intercept them.

Sanaa forces have not issued any statement on the attack, which was described in reports as the largest missile attack on Saudi Arabia.
