UAE confirms ongoing intelligence sharing with “Israel”, denies warning Netanyahu prior to Oct. 7

ABU DHABI, Sept. 09 (YPA) – The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the continuation of direct communication channels and intelligence-sharing with Israeli occupation institutions since the establishment of bilateral relations over five years ago.

However, the ministry denied Hebrew media reports claiming Abu Dhabi had warned Israeli occupation’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prior to the October 7, 2023 attack.

In an official statement, the ministry clarified that communications conducted following the October 7 attack were aimed at de-escalation and promoting regional stability.

The statement refuted claims published by the Israeli newspaper ‘Haaretz’ regarding a late September 2023 phone call between UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed and Netanyahu warning him of a large-scale attack planned by Hamas.
